Co-Opted Governor
Overview
As a Co-opted Governor, you can make a valuable contribution to the strategic leadership of the school. No formal qualifications are necessary; just a commitment to children’s education and welfare, skills that would help the Governing Body in its work and the time to use your skills.
Personal attributes
To contribute to the work of the Governing Body in ensuring high standards of achievement for all children and young people in the school by:
• ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
• holding the Head teacher to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils and the performance management of staff
• overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent
Salary & Benefits
The role of Governor is a voluntary position. Governors are not salaried and receive no financial remuneration. This is an opportunity to contribute skills and experience in a strategic governance capacity.
